George Snail

George Snail travels with James and Sally Hallstead in the Book of Negroes and in the Birchtown Muster where they reappear as a family group in Captain Snowball's Company. Sally and James are George's guardians and we believe they are probably his grandparents. It is not clear who his parents are, we presume his deceased mother is Sally's daughter. The name Snaile is an old family in Princess Anne County connected by marriage to Edward Moseley. Sally and George were both owned by Edward Mosely and located in Princess Ann County.
