Hester Wilkinson

Hester Wilkinson is the mother of Rachel Herbert and grandmother of Esther Herbert, with whom she travels in the Book of Negroes. Hester does not say how long ago she left her former master, Mills Wilkinson of Pigs Point, Virginia, but we know her daughter Rachel ran four years ago (at the same time as her husband, Willis Herbert). Hester and the rest of her family are all listed together in Captain Robert Nicholson's Company in the Birchtown Muster.
